new, with a veiw
Hi to the group:
I read the note about that guy who approached a railroad for a ride.
Something like this can cause a lot of trouble for the group. Maybe this is a
good argument for brochures and public awareness. If the public was more aware
of what the organization is about and what we all stand for as far as riding
safe and riding with cooperation and harmony with railroads maybe one person
wouldn't be able to cause as much damage. If the railroads know that this is
not the general attitude of the organization but of just one guy they wouldn't
let this incident ruin the relationships that have been built between RRs and
railcar owners. Sometimes public awareness is a good thing. I personally have
waited for about four years since first learning about the hobby to get to a
point in my life to be able to do this. I've been two rides with my car now
and love it, Every time I put the car away after a ride I can't wait for the
next one. How long does this feeling last before it goes away? I hope it lasts
along time. The more people know about us, The stronger we will become against
these problems. What do you think?
