weight
While in Oregon on MOW's Pacific Northwest Tour
I was able to pull in to a closed Oregon Truck Weigh Station. They keep their
scales on with an overhead digital sign indicating the weight. I was towing Glen
Ford's MT-14 - no turntable and not enclosed - on the trailer the scale
indicated 1700 #'s. The trailer probably doesn't weigh more than 300#'s and
assuming 10% of the weight (one hopes) is resting on the hitch of the vehicle
you could assume total 1870#'s trailer and motorcar take away 300 and around
1570#'s - My back says that's about right!!!
I tow with a 31 ft Superchief Winnebago - the
front weighed 4400#'s and the rear 10,500 #'s with the trailer on!!!
Altogether 16,600 #'s!!!! And I wonder why I get 6
mpg.......
