Re: Extra Gas cans ?
Dear Mart,
I agree totally. However the point is to illustrate the problems extinguishing
a small amount of burnung liquid fuel. Additional fuel and/or atomization (say
a car getting smacked by another car) of that fuel compounds the problem of
extinguishing the fire. My point here is that many people put the fire
extinguisher in their car not knowing a) how to properly utilize it and b) what
its capabilities are.
Best bets, 1) leave the portable gas containers at home, 2) Install gas tank
protectors on your cars if the tank is exposed at the rear of the car, 3) Visit
your local fire department and get some good information on how to use the
extinguisher you own. Otherwise, if you are behind one of the people that
persist in carrying portable cans on the back of the car ask to be moved away
from the nut.
