Finally, the real issue is on the block. Mike Paul said it, ..."protect
the insurance" has become the hidden bylaw for NARCOA today". There were
some errors in my insurance description, but it led to find the key to
the coercion of others (clubs), called "guilty until proven innocent". I
understand the fear but fear is seldom a foundation of good things. The
bottom line is the hobby never came up with a solution to handle the
problem operator and "protecting the insurance" is a poor solution.
Meanwhile, everyone's club is injected (through forced membership) with
these operators that clubs were assumed to already have, then rules are
created to harbor them. The thing about democracy and freedom is that
they cannot work unless freed with no strings attached. Most
"protection" supporters may not have had demeaning intent, but this is a
great example of "the ends never justify the means".
