[Fwd: [speeders] Model "T" coil]

I've got a couple of, I think, Ford coils (wooden buzz boxes). So if I
have it right, I solder something on the "lugs" to attach the wires and
use, say a six volt battery to run a 2-stroke?

Thanks again,

Rod and all,

The Model T coil is perfect for use on a  a speeder with a 2-stroke in it.  I have run some 500+ miles with mine and have not had a bit of trouble.

To answer your question, the "lug" on the bottom (opposite side of the points) is your Battery terminal.  On the side face, the upper "lug" is your Common and the one below that is the Plug.

Both the Ford and KW brand coils can be run on 12 volts without any resistor inline.  The coils were originally designed to run on 6-30 volts AC depending upon the RPM's of the "T" engine.

Subject: [speeders] Model "T" coil

Help ................ I now have a model "T" coil for my M-9. It has three terminals on it. I am sure one is Ground, one is +voltage and one goes to the spark plug. Which is which? Can it be used on 12 volts? It is a real FORD coil, it has FORD imprinted on the side of the box and it is old. Thanks. Rod.
