[speeders] Jake Jacobson, President, Copper Basin Railway
A MESSAGE TO ALL:
I received a phone call earlier today from my good friend Jake Jacobson
of the "Jake Safety Awards Fame" and President of the Copper Basin Railway.
I'm passing this along to all of you with his permission.
You may or may not be aware that Jake was diagnosed with advanced
prostate cancer in the late winter of 2002. Jake chose to have the prostate
removed which normally would have been done ASAP but his doctors were unable
to accomplish this until some other health concerns were dealt with.
I'm happy to report that Jake was finally operated on successfully to
remove his prostate earlier last week and is now out of the hospital and
recuperating.
Jake has been a strong supporter of NARCOA and the motor car hobby for
many years and has been host to numerous excursions on the Copper Basin
Railway. He has also opened the doors to many other railroads for us to
operate on in the U.S.
I know he has hundreds of friends among us and it sure would be a nice
gesture to drop Jake a get well card and a note showing all of our support
individually for his full and complete recovery. They can be sent to the
following address:
Jake Jacobson, President
Copper Basin Railway, Inc.
P.O. Drawer I
Hayden, AZ 85235
When I had a similar situation in early 2000, Jake was one of my many staunch
supporters. It sure makes a difference in the healing process when you know
people are concerned and care. Whatever you can do for Jake as far as
dropping him a card and note would be appreciated. Thanks and have a great
Thanksgiving.
